This hotel offers guests an upscale beachfront property with 2 beaches and a spa. The property was built in 1780 and many of the staff are locals who have worked at the hotel for decades. There are modern amenities like an infinity pool, spa, and fitness center available. There is also a boutique shop that celebrates local artists offering works by a rotating selection of creators.
Hotel grounds were amazing. The common facilities were very nice. Food and drink were good. Staff were friendly. Only comments are that the room needed a fresh coat of paint and they didn’t clean it one day.

We had a great week in Curacao staying at Avila Beach Hotel with our 7 year old daughter. The 1 bedroom apartment we got had very nice garden and ocean views, was very modern, clean and well appointed.Pool is smallish but who needs it when they have 2 secluded beaches with nice rock walls to keep them calm. Water is amazing, and was never fighting for a lounge chair at the beach.Breakfast buffet was great and included mimosas which was nice.Close to historic downtown and several very good restaurants easily walkable in the area. Will come again for sure.

DO NOT STAY HERE!! They will take advantage of you if they get the opportunity.I tried booking a room using their website. I submitted my payment info to them but the website got stuck loading after I pressed submit. I tried this 3 times with the same issue before going to the hotel to try and book in person. I showed them the issues but they said they couldn’t book that room, only a more expensive one. We went somewhere else. The next day I got charges on my card for all 3 bookings even though I talked to them in person to make sure this wouldn’t happen!I went back to try and figure out the problem. They refused to at the hotel and told me to call a number. I called it and they said they weren’t able to help refund the money at that moment but would call me back…. I never heard back from them.We ended up staying at another hotel close by that was excellent. Don’t stay here, there are much better options!

The best hotel, in my opinion. They call to check in on you. Everyone, including down to the house keeping service, was hospitable and kind. When we walked in, we had a fruit punch drink served to us. We did have an hour wait to get to our room, but they were nice and held our luggage until the room was ready. I highly suggest staying here for the convenience and its proximity to everything on the island. The food was delicious!! The staff even better!! See Zachary at the front desk for a list of nearby favorite places and recommendations for food, drinks, and more he is amazing 👏. The two beaches were awesome sight. Lastly, the value is worth it! If we come back we are booking this place again!

Really enjoyed our stay here. Private resort with a couple self contained restaurants. Great breakfast buffet and all people were helpful and friendly. Good location as their are about 10 restaurants within a 6-8 block space and 4 higher end places within a 5 minute walk. Enclosed beach with a breaker wall kept the beach peaceful with some good snorkeling. We stayed in a Blue Room on the ocean and it has beautiful views.

This place was perfect for a relaxing girls trip. We stayed in a 3 bedroom suite in the newly renovated building of the hotel. We were able to walk right out our sliding doors to the beach. Service was good. Beach was calm and water clear and warm. Pool was perfect temp. One of the restaurants was still undergoing renovations. The beds also weren’t the best quality. Not exactly luxury linens. The hotel was walking distance to a small square with excellent restaurants for dinner. Any farther of a walk into town was a bit sketchy but doable.

Lovely property with a gorgeous beach. The ocean here is the best for swimming - calm water with a sandy bottom. Looks like a giant swimming pool 🌞 Great place to snorkel right off the beach. Also, I had a Chicken Bahn Mi (wrap) and it was really delicious! Great fruit smoothies too!

The hotel wasn't bad I enjoyed are stay. However they have a restaurant in the hotel called The Pen it was over priced and the food was not good. Now the other one in house The Blues Caribbean Kitchen was a great meal and reasonable on pricing . The hotel had told us are room would be ready at 4 pm .When we returned at 4:10 pm they were not ready and the fellow told us we would have to wait. I blew a fuse on him and then walked away . He called us over about ten minutes later and gave us a room .Not a West facing room we requested on line but a east facing room sun every morning .But it was nice we stuck or out here and now we are on are last day.

Room was clean, spacious, had a beautiful view of the ocean and was close to the beach. Food in the restaurants was good with a continental, Caribbean flair. Staff was friendly and helpful. Beach was clean with plenty of lounges.

I'm torn on this... the resort itself was amazing. Staff was either super nice or rude... mostly nice but a few clearly didn't like their job. Swimming area was great. I rented snorkeling from them and the mask was literally falling apart. They had a 5am super loud cleaning or mowing or something that woke everyone up, including our kids.Everything was pretty expensive. Drinks were super weak. The towel cards were annoying. They offered free sunscreen that was reef friendly, so that was nice.Staff appeared to expect a tip for every little thing they helped with...Pool was nice... we had a good time but there's some things they could improve.

The Avila Hotel is in a great location and has a nice bay beach, calm waters. The Pen Restaurant had great service and great breakfast. The Jazz restaurant had bad service I asked for water and drinks they arrived after I was already finished eating…and I asked three times … since I needed water when eating.. I did enjoy a great band though… we stayed in the ocean view rooms on the peninsula the rooms really need updating. I got a splinter in my foot from the old decking and the curtains could use some shears so you can open the curtains to get light into the room while still wanting privacy.. the bathrooms need updating as well as the furnishings and some areas around the resort… I could not plug my hair straightener in the bathroom when getting dressed since the outlet was in the hallway I had to stand in the hallway to do my hair near the outlet. Would be nice to have the proper outlets and vanity lighting in the bathrooms for the ladies..,Could be a first class property if they updated and remodeled it…cause location is great. Many great nearby restaurants Fish and Joy was our favorite… I would not return since the room needs updating.. not sure what the other accommodations are like though… hope they update the rooms would be a gem of a place if they did!

Stayed at Avila this past May. It was our 1st time on Curacao and so happy we chose Avila. We stayed in the Blues Wing Section. The room was clean, nicely appointed, with a private balcony. One of their private beach coves was just steps from our door. I loved the private beach cove as we didn't have to worry about waves or rough water. There were many different little fish we saw when snorkeling by the rocks. We tried all the restaurants on site, and all were good. The proximity of the hotel was also good as there were quite a few restaurants within a short walking distance. Also we took advantage of the shuttle bus that goes to downtown several times a day. Everyone who works there were welcoming, helpful and friendly. The resort has a very peaceful and laid-back vibe, which was exactly what we were looking for. We had an amazing stay and we would come back again.

Went for the day. Day pass was a great value. We got shaded lounge chairs, swam in the pool, and snorkeled right outside the surf break. Food and drinks were great. Entrance was 18 NAF per person.

The hotel is clean and nice. It has it's own beach. The hotel is near to the most awesome restaurant area on the island. At night it is better to travel by car. Food at the hotel is ok, but not so many choices. But at walking distance from other restaurants.

Only visited the two beaches of the hotel. You can make a reservation on the website to get a day pass to the beach with use of the chairs. When you arrive to the hotel you can get the passes at the front desk. It costs 25 ANG (~14 dollar) per person. You get a real ticket and you can walk through the lobby to the beach area. (then this ticket does not get checked at all!) There are 2 bays with sand and lots of beach chairs. It is really nice to take a dip and snorkel (most fishes near the rocks). The Pen restaurant is nice for a drink or a meal.

Would have given 5 stars if our wonderful stay hadn’t ended with a distasteful check-out. We had a later flight and asked 3 times about a late checkout. Out of all those times, no one mentioned a late check out fee.Additionally, nothing like standing in line for the reception and every person is offered a drink except for you and your husband. Very rude and disappointing. No longer recommending this hotel.

We had an amazing stay at Avila. The two beaches alone are worth the stay. Away from other places who share a strip of beach and can get too busy. Amazing views, sand and calm clear blue water! Many Dutch visitors and other international vacationers makes this a beautiful experience. The staff is also warm and friendly. Don’t expect NYC timing but always willing to accommodate and go above and beyond. Great for both families and couples with great restaurants in walking distance as well. Love it here!

We had a wonderful stay and enjoyed the private beaches and daily breakfast options. The location was great with tons of walkable restaurants and bars on the same street. We particularly loved walking to the Petermaii district and checking out that area. The Blues restaurant on-site was great with beautiful views, and the two on-site bars were super convenient for drinks on the beach. Our room was very clean and we had an oceanfront view which was beautiful. It was a fairly basic room, but the coffee machine and mini refrigerator were super convenient. We did a couple of excursions and each tour operator came directly to our hotel to pick us up. We would absolutely come back again and feel like the price was absolutely worth it. Would recommend!

The location is amazing, and there's plenty of fish to see snorkeling right off Avila beach with the benefit of being able to rinse off right after. No complaints about the room in la belle alliance, everything was clean and coming back to an air conditioned room after a day out feels amazing. The staff was also very helpful whenever anything came up

We had ocean front room second floor. It was a good size room. The hotel was nice. We had breakfast there every morning. Breakfast was a little high but it was better than driving around looking for food. Food was good. Hotel location was great. A few nice restaurants near by. We walked to the Center of town a few times at night. I felt safe to do so. The water was clear with fish around the rocks. I wore slip on water shoes because of the shells when you first get in. Every beach we went to had a strip of rocks shells and coral to walk over before you were in deep enough so buy some. The beach here was never over crowded like others on the island.

The moment we entered the Avila entrance, we instantly felt welcomed. The staff is EXTREMELY friendly and helpful, especially Valerie who was attending to all of our needs. Aside from the hospitality, the location of Avila is PRIME. There are two beaches behind the hotel, a beach bar, and two restaurants on hotel premises. Highly recommend going to Blues at the hotel - the Stoba was our favorite. Overall, the surrounding area has numerous local restaurants that have delicious food and you are a ten minute walk from the downtown area. We felt safe, comfortable, and truly felt like we were in paradise. Highly recommend the Avila!

I hesitate to post a review of our time because I’d like to keep this beautiful placd a secret - but if you find yourself in Curaçao for a day (a cruise stop like us maybe) reserve a spot for you and your party to come and hang out here for as long as you can! The day pass offered by the hotel is perfect. The resort is quiet and the grounds are beautiful - the water is crystal clear. We had a great and relaxing time.

Great place! Recommend. Great location. We stayed in the royal beach front. Want to point out that Kevin the omelette maker was by far the best service in the hotel. He was friendly. And went above and beyond.

Booked this for my birthday and could not have asked for a better service. All of the staff were so kind and friendly, nothing was too much. Arrived in time for breakfast and spent the day on the beach. Great cocktails. Lovely beach, no stones or rocks which was a nice change from the other beaches we visited! Definitely top of the list and will come again.

We just returned from a 5 day/4 night stay at Avila Beach Hotel. We were delayed a day due to flight cancelation, but the hotel was more than willing to move us around to accommodate the change. The restaurants, Blues, The Pen and the bar were exceptional. We ate the Breakfast Buffet one day and thoroughly enjoyed everything from the freshly made omelet station to the mimosas and everything you could possibly want. The Avila Beach Hotel was walkable to Willemstad so we didn't need to take a taxi or feel like we needed to rent a car. We took advantage of transportation from the airport and the couple of excursions that we did. We enjoyed the lagoon swimming and snorkeled with the fish and sea creatures. Our room was oceanfront and we enjoyed the sunsets and cruise ship dockings from our balcony. The costs of room and meals were very reasonable for such a beautiful resort. Although full occupancy, we never felt like it was busy...didn't wait for beach lounge chairs or seating at the restaurants. The staff was terrific and always so helpful-being in hospitality, I watch many interactions with guests and always a smile and helpful suggestions. We can't wait to return and we will definitely be staying at Avila again!

We had an excellent time at Avila Beach Hotel for our six days in Curacao! The staff was very friendly and always happy to help, the Octagon Standard room was comfortable and clean. The beaches are wonderful, with clear, calm water, and very cool snorkeling beyond the rocks. We also enjoyed all of the drinks and snacks at Schooner Bar, and we appreciated the hotel's location, as it was a short walk to Willemstad's center, and there were several amazing restaurants nearby as well.We will definitely be back to Avila Beach Hotel when we visit again!

Love this place! Beach front room. Leaving the hustle and Americanization of Aruba, this was a welcome calm. Check in was very professional, greeted with a fresh glass of fruit juice. Rooms are nice, Private beach with Cabana's. Close to downtown. Beautiful beaches and sites around this hidden gem called Curacao.

Hotel property has the most perfectly maintained common areas and beautiful beaches. Rooms are nice, but it's the property itself that will keep you dreaming of returning to Curaçao. The two beaches have sandy bottoms that gradually get deeper. No currents and or waves. Snorkeling is amazing with both beaches offering diverse aquatic life in crystal clear waters. Restaurants are decent at Avila but just outside the property are some great places to eat. Exceptional service by the staff from hotel lobby to bars and housekeeping. It's not if we go back but when!

We had a wonderful time during our stay at Avila! The location is beautiful with 2 beautiful beaches. We were able to do some snorkeling right there. It was within walking distance to restaurants and Punda. The restaurants at the resort had great food too! Some servers were more attentive than others, but we are used to “island time” in the Caribbean and everyone was friendly! That’s the only reason I gave 4 stars for service. At dinner we had Adiel as our waiter and he provided top notch service. Definitely 5 star service from him! He was very friendly and gave good suggestions on what to check out on the island. We would turn around in our chair and he was there in seconds asking if we needed anything else. The rooms were very clean. Thank you for a great experience, we will definitely be back!!

Our stay at Avila resort was something we will never forget. The charming entryway, which I believe is the original hotel, was inviting, and the staff are very welcoming. After passing beyond that into the outside took glimpse the resort, we were immediately in awe. The resort had a charming European vibe. The two private beaches were full of color and held the entertain for hours as we swam and snorkeled. The views were breathtaking. Although not a true all inclusive resort, meaning you couldn’t go get free drinks anytime you wanted, the food was superb. In fact, I don’t hesitate to say I’ve had the best skirt steak of my life there. The fish was fresh and tasty. My only complaint was the dessert was lackluster. Our room exceeded our expectations and the staff surprised us. many of them quickly learned our names or room number and asked if we were American several times. They said they could tell because we were friendly and smiled. They said the visiting Europeans don’t act that way. Which they said, they appreciated our demeanor. If we ever return to the island, we will definitely be staying here. The location was also a close walk to downtown. There are several charming buildings along the way. Many of the locals say they have a lot of infrastructure and things to change to get the island in better condition, but we very much enjoyed our stay!

For the price I was expecting a comfortable room and nice facilities. Avila did not disappoint. But what made the stay particularly delightful was that there were none of the usual annoyances that do not individually matter but can collectively mar a stay. E.g.1) Wi-Fi - was always strong, seamless and fast. Strong enough we could use it from the restaurant across the road….2) friendly staff - universally cheerful and helpful3) quiet and uncrowded - I was surprised to find out the hotel was at 90% occupancy…. I would have guessed 50%. No lines, uncrowded beaches/bars/restaurants. Delightful4)Everything just worked, and was clean. All lights, fans, doors/locks. Hot water …. Everything just worked.5) Airport transfers - seamless and efficientSo I can summarize by saying that we felt welcome, stayed in a great suite, and everything just WORKED, which meant that there was nothing to annoy us and distract us from the great facilities (room, beach, reefs/fish) and therefore we had a great vacation.

Great location! Beautiful and relaxing private beaches, cozy rooms and a short walk to great restaurants and downtown. The food was good at Pen's, and the staff was very friendly. A few complaints - there's a lack of beach-side service, poor service at the bars, and some of the junior service staff didn't seem to take their jobs seriously.

We arrived in Curacao by cruise ship and had a day pass to use the Avila facilities. I can't rate the rooms as we were only there to use beach and pool area. A very clean, beautiful resort. I mentioned to my wife that we should actually book a vacation at this resort because we were so impressed. We were very well cared for by Stephanie, a new supervisor. As we were only day pass visitors , I was not expecting the level of service we received. We felt very welcomed. Stephanie is going to be a very valuable member of the Avila Beach Hotel. Thank you for making our day memorable.

We had a great experience staying at the Avila Beach Resort in mid-December of 2023. The room is spacious and clean. The hotel resort is situated right by two private beaches and is walking distance to the Queen Emma Bridge and downtown Willemstad cafes, restaurants, shopping district. The restaurants and bars menu prices are somewhat expensive but you pay for the conveniences. Parking is free. Also, sunscreen is free. There’s a small gift shop in the hotel resort. They have live music with local bands in the hotel resort in the evenings. The Avila Hotel Resort has a more classical Spanish or European feeling and vibe to the layout and architectural style. They also offer room service every day. I would stay in the Avila Hotel Resort again the next time I’m traveling to Curaçao. Highly recommended hotel resort.

Great place to stay if you want a relaxing time. The private beach was absolutely beautiful. The staff are friendly and kind at all times. The area is safe, well lit, and the food was good as well. Spent my 40th there and this is the first trip I've been on in a while where I wanted to stay longer. Also if you're thinking of going rent a car to visit other beaches and areas. So much to see and do.

Just stayed a week with our family of 4 including our 10 and 12 year old. We were extremely happy with our stay. Room was adequate for us and large balcony facing the ocean was enjoyed. Housekeeping was great. We didn't spend much time at the hotel, but enjoyed the beach & snorkeling on our arrival day & the afternoon one day after exploring the city. Kids enjoyed the pool every evening. We had dinner there twice, once at each restaurant- BBQ night was excellent & our meal at Blues was great too. We had breakfast there twice and everyone was satisfied with the selection! Location couldn't have been better- short walk and/ or drive to great dinner spots and to town. We rented a car from the Budget on site out of convenience as prices were the same as other places. While our daughter affectionately called the car "hunky junky", it suited our needs to beach hop. We'll definitely be back!

Our cruise stopped in Curacao, and we had reserved ahead of time day passes for the 17 guests in our group. This location is spectacular. My husband and I recently spent 4 nights at this resort while vacationing in Curaçao, and it definitely met our expectations. It was our first visit to Curaçao, and we were very satisfied with our stay. The room was clean and modern; we stayed in the Octagon room and loved the balcony with its ocean view.Upon check-in, we were greeted with a refreshing welcome drink, and the process was quick and easy. We were also pleased to be able to check in a few hours early. The grounds were impressive and certainly Instagram-worthy.We had a rental car, and parking was free and never an issue. Additionally, the WiFi was strong throughout the resort, even at the beach. Our stay was perfect, and we had a blast! You won’t be disappointed if you decide to stay here.

Day pass only. We didn’t find the day pass worth it. We expected it to be more lively with music (beach club vibes). No music, were charged for towels, no one came around for a drink order or beach service. Day passers feel like intruders to be honest. You’re really just paying for entry.
